Apple Italy has reached an
agreement to pay Italian tax authorities 318 million euros, as
the result of proceedings regarding possible tax evasion
totaling 879 million euros from 2008 to 2013, Italian daily La
Repubblica said on Wednesday.
The Milan prosecutor's office is still investigating three
Apple Italy top managers for alleged non-declaration.
Prosecutor's office sources called the agreement "an
important result" and said it's the first time the Cupertino,
California-based tech giant has agreed to resolve a lawsuit of
this kind by paying out a major compensation sum to local tax
authorities.
