New home mortgage loans rose
97.4% in the first 11 months of 2015 over the same period last
year, the Italian Banking Association (ABI) said Monday. Banks
extended a total of 44.3 billion euros in loans to home buyers,
against 22.5 billion euros in loans in 2014, ABI added.
Variable/rate mortgages made up 43.7% of the total while
fixed-rate loans made up 65% - up from 25% in 2014, according to
ABI.
