Prosecutor Roberto Rossi said Friday that the judiciary's
self-governing body, the CSM, had approved a consultancy post he
holds with the judicial and legislative affairs department of
the premier's office. The CSM has opened an inquiry as Rossi is
also investigating possible wrongdoing at Italian bank Banca
Etruria, one of four lenders recently saved by a government
decree. Rossi said the posts "was explicitly approved by the
CSM" and "does not have any political connotation".
