Families in Italy had an average
income of 30,500 euros a year in 2014, the Bank of Italy said
Thursday.
This translated into approximately 2,500 euros a month,
marking the end of a downwards trend that began in 2008, the
central bank said.
Ten per cent of families had an annual income in excess of
55,000 euros.
Further, the top 5% of families, with average assets worth
1.3 million euros, owned over 30% of overall wealth, the Bank of
Italy said.
For most families their assets consisted of their primary
residence, the central bank added.
Low-income families - namely those with an income of less
than 9,600 euros per year - stood at 22.3% in 2014, the central
bank added.
