A shopkeeper from the
southern Italian town of Paola, near Cosenza, was arrested by
Calabrian police on Friday for allegedly beating and raping his
ex-wife in front of their adult child on three separate
occasions.
The man, aged 51, allegedly repeatedly subjected the woman
to violence after their separation and used a knife to threaten
to kill her.
The woman reported the man to the police after the
umpteenth attack on Thursday, sources said.
