Retail sales dropped by 0.1% in September with respect to August, Istat said on Wednesday.
The national statistics agency added, however, that retail sales were 1.5% higher in September than in the same month in 2014. It said that the year-on-year rise was spearheaded by mayor retail groups, which had higher sales of 3.1%, while sales for small shops was steady. Istat also said retail sales were up 0.2% in the third quarter of 2015 with respect to the second.
