There are currently over 1,200
remotely piloted aircraft (drones) flying in Italy under civil
aviation authority (Enac) rules, Enac said Tuesday.
The market is sustained by around 600 companies
specialising in the production of drones or their use in aerial
filming, agriculture and infrastructure monitoring, among other
things.
The figures are set out in an Enac report to be presented
at next Wednesday's conference 'Italy of drones', part of the
cycle 'Roma Drone Conference 2015-2016'.
"The market for drones in Italy continues to grow, at least
regarding the number of companies working in this sector," said
Roma Drone Conference Luciano Castro, adding however that major
problems remained.
These are due to "legal restrictions, the slowness of major
public commissions and the presence of numerous operators that
fly illegally, without forgetting the recent security alerts,"
Castro said.
