Italians aged 55 to 64 on the
verge of retirement are the most pessimistic in Europe about
their future and among the most dissatisfied with their quality
of working life, a Barometro Edenred-Ipsos survey shows.
A survey of 14 countries disclosed that as many as 52% of
Italians in that age group considered themselves the most
disadvanataged in Europe and among the least motivated together
with their neighbours in France (52%).
Only 20% of them had planned their retirement and
considered it "close enough," below the european average of 35%.
Only 37% of Italians of that age group said they were
happy at work, making them among the unhappiest in Europe after
Poland and the Czech Republic.
Only 25% of Italians aged 55 to 64 said they were happy
with the quality of their working life, making them the most
disgruntled except for the Spanish.
