A 37-year-old woman who was
discharged twice from hospital in Rivoli, where she presented a
week ago with abdominal and middle-back pain, died of a coronary
dissection, authorities said Monday according to results of an
autopsy ordered by the Turin prosecutor's office.
An investigation is underway, currently against unknown
suspects, to determine whether or not the pathology could have
somehow been detected by the health care workers.
A coronary dissection is a rare condition with symptoms
similar to a heart attack in which a coronary artery develops a
tear.
