The Italian government intends to
keep the 65% tax deduction for energy efficiency building
interventions, and is considering stabilising or widening the
base of eligibility for the deduction, said undersecretary for
reforms Ivan Scalfarotto on Friday.
Scalfarotto, responding in the Lower House to a question
from MP Nunzia De Girolamo, said that the tax deduction, in
place since 2007, is an "integral part" of an energy sector
consolidation strategy, and has contributed to a yearly energy
savings equivalent to one million tons of oil or two million
tons less atmospheric carbon dioxide.
