Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio
Visco said Thursday that the Italian and the European economies
were still in a phase of "stagnation". He said that it "will
take years" to return to the levels of economic activity seen in
2008 before the global economic crisis began to take its toll.
Visco also warned that there are "very serious" signals of a
lack of confidence in eurozone countries, "a sign that on the
political side, progress is still far away".
