Italy's Audit Court on Friday
sentenced scholar Giuliano Soria to a 6.2-million-euro fine for
irregularities in management of the funds of the Grinzane Cavour
literary prize while he was its president.
Soria is also standing trial in criminal court.
The Grinzane Cavour prize was endowed in 1982 and ceased to
exist in 2009, following allegations that Soria was embezzling
funds.
