Dishes incorporating Parmesan
cheese and Parma's famed prosciutto ham will be offered to
visitors to Milan Expo 2015, and from next week will act as
culinary 'ambassadors' in restaurants around the world,
organisers said Thursday.
"On Sunday evening, we will begin in several restaurants in
Europe and elsewhere proposing Italian cuisine dishes based on
these two important examples of 'Made in Italy' excellence,"
said Donato Troiano, director of InformaCibo and promoter of the
project.
"We will receive attention thanks to important chefs, for
instance in Shanghai and Paris, but not only for that reason,"
added Troiano.
"The initiative then will be repeated in several hundred
different restaurants around the world up to April 30".
After Expo 2015 opens "we will take visitors to the Milan
fair directly to the production sites in Parma to taste dishes
based on prosciutto ham and Parmesan," he added.
Ad hoc tastings of ham and cheese will be held in
restaurants between Milan and Parma until April.
