Police on Wednesday
seized assets worth 5 million euros beloging to the estate of
the late Rocco Antonio Gioffrè, allegedly the head of the
Calabria-based criminal group 'Ndrangheta in the town of
Seminara.
Gioffrè died of natural causes in Sicily in 2011 aged 75.
Among the confiscated assets were 34 olive-groves, five
buildings, a company, and bonds worth 58 thousand euros bought
thanks to EU aid.
