The Italian domestic tourist
industry has struggled this year and will end 2014 in the red,
the association of hotel proprietors Federalberghi said
Thursday.
"The results have been strongly below expectations in the
first nine months of 2014," said Federalberghi chief Bernabò
Bocca.
A sharp drop in stays and a fall in prices means 2014 "will
close badly in the red," he said.
Even the four summer months, which usually buoy figures,
"resulted in pure stagnation," he said.
