Wine and olive oil production
may drop as a result of unseasonably heavy rains in September,
farmers' association Coldiretti said on Thursday.
Olive harvesting has recently begun in central and southern
Italy.
Coldiretti said the extreme weather is a result of climate
change and has put 500,000 producers and their entire year's
work at risk.
Heavy rains this summer cost the Italian tourism and
agriculture industries more than one billion euros, said
Coldiretti.
