Italian oil giant ENI said its
personnel and oil interests in Iraq were not in danger amid
clashes between government forces and jihadist militants who
have taken several important cities in the past week.
"The safety of our personnel is our priority," said a
spokesperson. "We continue to monitor up close the situation in
Iraq. At the moment the region of Basra, where the Zubair oil
field is located, has not been hit by revolts and we're keeping
our essential staff there".
