Italy's millionaires are growing
in numbers not seen since before the global economic crisis,
putting it in 10th place worldwide, a study showed Wednesday.
According to the Capgemini and RBC Wealth Management world
wealth report, some 203,200 Italians were worth $1 million or
more in 2013, up 15.6% since 2012.
The number is also 12.5% above the European average, and
just slightly behind 2007 levels of 208,000.
Researchers cited tax shields and an increase in stock
values as the primary causes.
The number of so-called 'super rich', or people with money
and assets worth a total of $30 million or more, is also on the
rise, recorded at 3,000 in 2013.
