The per capita cost of the average
Italian employee in 2011 - including taxes and social-security
contributions - was 31,049 euros per year, Italian statistics
agency Istat said Thursday.
Average take-home pay amounted to 53.7% of the total, or
16,666 euros per employee.
Per capita gross income for the self-employed, not
including social-security contributions and taxes, was 24,644
euros for the same year.
Average net income for the self-employed was 69.6% of the
total, or 17,148 euros.
