Italy's annual inflation rate
increased from 0.4% in March to 0.6% in April, the first rise in
10 months, according to preliminary estimates released by Istat
Wednesday.
Istat said this marked a "slight acceleration".
Low price rises have been interpreted as sign Italy's
economy recovery is weak after the country emerged from its
longest postwar recession in the second half of last year.
The national statistics agency added that inflation was up
0.2% this month with respect to March, according to preliminary
data.
