Russia's Lower House on
Wednesday approved a bill punishing the justification or
rehabilitation of Nazism with up to five years in prison or
fines of up to 10,000 euros.
The bill had been on the agenda for five years.
The vote reportedly sped up after Russia last month annexed
Ukraine's Crimean peninsula last month, allegedly to protect
Russian-speaking inhabitants there from extreme right-wing
groups.
