(ANSA) - GORIZIA, DEC 15 - The Medieval Castle and the Salcano Bridge, the Castagnevizza Monastery, where the last Bourbon King of France, Charles X, and the daughter of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI, Maria Theresa Charlotte, were laid to rest, and Coronini Palace. These are the sites included in a two-hour tour to discover the history of Gorizia and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), divided by the border for decades. Now, they are together as the European Capital of Culture for 2025.

The trip to some of the area's landmarks," the City of Gorizia explains, "will be a bus trip, with the support of two guides, one Italian and one Slovenian, free of charge. Two appointments are scheduled for December, on Saturday, 17, and Sunday, 18, and will be repeated on January 7 and 8, 2023. Departure time will be at 10 a.m. from Transalpina Square, a symbol of the demolished border. Tour bookings are available at TIC Nova Gorica or the Promoturismo FVG Infopoint in Gorizia. (ANSA).
