(ANSA) - Rome, January 21 - Second-placed Napoli beat Lazio 2-1 at home on Sunday to trim Juventus's lead at the top of the table to six points.
The Turin giants, who are aiming for an eighth consecutive Serie A title, can restore their advantage to nine points by beating bottom side Chievo at home later on Monday.
First-half goals by Jose Callejon and Arkadiusz Milik earned Napoli victory.
Ciro Immobile pulled one back for Lazio in the second half but the visitors' hopes of staging a comeback were dashed when centre back Francesco Acerbi was sent off for a second yellow card. Third-placed Inter are seven points behind Napoli on 40 after being held to a goalless draw at home by Sassuolo.
AS Roma climbed to fourth with 32 points, one point more than Lazio, thanks to a 3-2 win over Torino.
Sixth-placed AC Milan take on Genoa away later on Monday.
