(ANSA) - Rome, May 12 - The Italian health ministry on Tuesday unveiled a campaign against teenage drinking involving a popular music group that has been compared to Frank Zappa. Elio e le Storie Tese made a music video in their famously irreverent style called, "A special evening". One of the song's lyrics goes, "a lot of litres of alcoholism, a ride in an ambulance, it's a new kind of tourism".
The music video was shot in spherical cam, allowing the viewer to see all possible angles as the video shows the damaging effects of alcohol. More than 775,000 young people ages 11-17 consume alcohol in Italy, according to the Higher Health Institute (ISS). Minors under the age of 14 account for 17% of all alcohol poisoning cases that end up in the emergency room.
