Police say Mancuso a leader in Calabria's most powerful clan

(ANSA) - Fiumicino, February 20 - Pantaleone Mancuso, considered by police a leading figure in the most powerful clan of the Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia, was extradited to Rome from Buenos Aires on Friday, ANSA sources said.
    Mancuso, 53, is accused of double attempted murder and mafia association, and was arrested in Argentina last August as he attempted to cross the border into Brazil on a bus.
    The Mancuso clan is considered by police the most powerful of the Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia, operating in international drug trafficking out of the towns of Limbadi and Nicotera.
    Mancuso was flown handcuffed and accompanied by Interpol agents on an Alitalia flight from Buenos Aires on Friday morning.
    He was taken to Rebibbia prison in Rome following arrest booking by Italian judicial police at Fiumicino airport.
