Trieste makes vaccinations obligatory for pre-school

Council decision to take effect for next school year

(ANSA) - Trieste, November 29 - The council of the north-eastern city of Trieste decided overnight to make it obligatory for children to have been vaccinated for several illnesses in order to enroll at city nursery schools. The obligation will kick in for the 2017-18 school year. The move makes Trieste the first Italian city to make vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, polio, and hepatitis B obligatory for all children attending public pre-schools.
