In view of inclement weather and an avalanche warning issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), classes in many schools were suspended as a precautionary measure for the safety of students. There is heavy waterlogging in many areas due to incessant rains. The incessant rainfall has led to closure of Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road link connecting Kashmir with rest of India. In the Ramban area in Srinagar-Jammu, over 50 houses and many electricity towers have been damaged by sink holes on roads. EPA/FAROOQ KHAN FAROOQ KHAN/ (ANSA).
