reopened the primary section schools on 25 October 2021, after
nearly six months of lockdown as per the second phase of school
reopening. The Indian Ocean island nation prepares for a full
reopening of all schools, universities, and higher education
institutes in an effort to avoid a slump in the education system
in the country. Education institutions have been closed for
nearly six months of strict restrictions due to the spread of
the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Meanwhile, Sri Lankan School
teachers and principals are currently on strike for nearly 100
days demanding solutions to their long-standing salary issues.
