Capodimonte Museum boasts an illustrious genealogy that has its
roots in the year 1738, when the sovereign Carlo di Borbone
decided to build a palace intended to house his art collection.
The building designed by architect Giovanni Antonio Medrano was
completed in 1758. The museum houses masterpieces by illustrious
masters such as Caravaggio, Tiziano, Raffaello, Botticelli and
