(ANSA) - ROMA, 28 SET - Men in hats stand as the work
Antelope by Samson Kambalu was unveiled as the latest sculpture
on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, Britain, 28
September 2022. Samson Kambalu was born in Malawi and his work
recreates a 1914 photograph of baptist preacher John Chilembwe
and missionary John Chorley. Chilembwe wears a hat defying a
rule in which Africans were banned from wearing hats in front of
white people. Chilembwe led a 1915 rebellion in Malawi against
British colonial rule before being killed by police. (ANSA).
