Giorgetti reiterated parliament ESM difficulties-Gentiloni

Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti reiterated the difficulties standing in the way of the Italian parliament approving a reform of the European Stability Mechanism at a meeting of the board of governors of the EU bailout fund Thursday, European Economic Affairs Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said after the meeting.
    Italy is the only EU member not to have approved the ESM reform, saying the fund should be put to other uses including boosting growth.
    "There was the meeting of the board of governors of the ESM during which a discussion was started on how the objectives of the ESM can be developed and during this meeting the Italian government through Minister Giorgetti reiterated the difficulties that there are in the Italian Parliament for the ratification of the treaty", said Gentiloni upon arriving at the Eurogroup meeting in Luxembourg.
