(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 22 GIU - A conference held in Trieste and
organized by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic
Sea with the FVG Region took stock of the state of the art of
environmental sustainability processes and adoption of digital
solutions among the ports of Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia,
analyzing their challenges and possible joint strategies.
In recent years, ports along the Adriatic shores of the three
countries have been working together to improve environmental
performance and efficiency through ICT solutions, both within
the North Adriatic Ports Association and as part of projects
co-financed by European funds.
Out of 11 ongoing projects in which the Port of Trieste
participates with a budget of about 43.5m, five focus on
decarbonization, three on digitalization, and three on building
new infrastructure. More than 30 entities from 11 EU countries
shared the knowledge acquired.
The results of these initiatives were presented in Trieste, and
the ports of Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia signed a protocol to
establish a system of cross-border cooperation in
decarbonization. (ANSA).
