(ANSA) - UDINE, 10 GIU - Lignano Sabbiadoro recorded a
tourist boom over the weekend, but there was no sell-out, as
many expected. The uncertain weather affected the tourist
influx, and vacationers from Austria and Germany were kept back,
particularly those who had planned a beach stay for Corpus
Christi.
"There are certainly many people - said the head of Lignano
Federalberghi, Enrico Guerin - but we did not record the
sell-out we expected. The occupancy rate is high. However, there
are still vacant rooms left. Probably the sold-out did not occur
because last-minute tourists were kept back by the variable
weather."
This weekend tourists from Austria and Germany "are still the
most numerous overall, then, of course, come the Italians,
although other nationalities prevail, - added Guerin - now we
just hope for sunshine and good weather forecasts, to start the
season in the best way." (ANSA).
