(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 11 APR - Three projects developed in Fvg were awarded the 2024 Sustainability Award by EGTC Euregio today. The projects are bike paths named after Italian singer-songwriters in Turriaco (Gorizia), a university mobility project included under Interreg Italy-Slovenia in Pordenone, and the 'DeepSea' initiative, focusing on mobility services in marinas (Interreg Italy-Croatia), which Aries, an in-house company of the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce promoted.
Six more prizes were awarded to as many projects by public and public-law entities implemented in Veneto and Carinthia.
These included the mobility initiative launched by Ca Foscari University in a collaboration between Venice and Rijeka and the shared cab connecting eight municipalities in the Nockberge Mountains in Carinthia. Each competing project declined mobility-related goals included in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030. The winners are named 'Ambassadors of Sustainability' and will promote a pro-environment message within the Euregio area.
"Euregio has proven to be among the most virtuous Euroregions by achieving several awards and implementing its activities, particularly this year in sustainable mobility," underlined Fvg Governor Massimiliano Fedriga.
The awards were presented at the end of the Euregio assembly, which re-elected Carinthia's President, Peter Kaiser, to lead the Gect Euregio Senza Confini for another term. (ANSA).
