(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 27 MAR - The European Commission has
approved Italy's amendment to its state aid scheme to support
businesses in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region given the ongoing
conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The amended scheme includes a budget increase of 150 million
euros, bringing the total support available for enterprises in
the agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and aquaculture sectors to
250 million euros. The original scheme, which provided aid
through direct grants and subsidized loans, was approved on
April 22, 2022.
Businesses in the aforementioned sectors at risk of losing
financial stability due to market difficulties caused by the
conflict are eligible for this measure. (ANSA).
