Germany: new orders in manufacturing drop by 0.4%

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 6 - According to preliminary data from the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), real (price adjusted) new orders in manufacturing in Germany fell 0.4% on a seasonally and calendar adjusted basis in April 2023 compared to March 2023. New orders fell by 10.9% in March 2023 (provisional figure: -10.7%). In the most recent three months, new orders were 2.3% lower than in the previous three months, according to the less volatile three-month average. Excluding large-scale orders, April 2023 saw a 1.4% increase over the previous month.

The sectors of machinery and equipment manufacturing (-6.2% compared to March 2023 on a seasonally and calendar adjusted basis) and miscellaneous vehicle construction (-34.0%) had the greatest negative impact on the overall development of new orders. (ANSA).
