(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 31 - Italian Senator Roberto Menia
(Fdi) is planning a visit to Hungary and Romania to support the
Italian communities in the two countries and strengthen the
historic friendship with Hungarians and Romanians.
The visit includes talks at the Magyar parliament, where
Menia will meet Lorinc Nacsa, president of the Italian-Hungarian
Friendship Group, and a conference at the Italian Embassy in
Budapest on June 1, on the status of the Italian community in
Hungary and Sistema Italia, among other things.
Moreover, Menia will visit the Új Köztemető Cemetery in
Budapest, the Monument to the Fallen of the Hungarian
Revolution, and meet with the Comites (Committee of Italians
Abroad) in Hungary.
On June 2, Menia will also attend a meeting in Debrecen with
the presidents of Comites in Hungary and Romania and then
participate in opening an event organized by Confindustria
Hungary.
From June 2 to June 4, however, he will be in Romania, where
he will meet with the leadership of the Right Alliance Party in
Cluji, the Italian community on Republic Day, the president of
the Chamber of Commerce and Confindustria, and the FDI Bucharest
circle.
Menia is head of FDI's Italians Abroad department, vice
president of the Third Permanent Commission (Foreign Affairs and
Defense), and Member of the Italian Parliamentary Delegation to
the Parliamentary Assembly of the Central European Initiative.
