(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, MAY 23 - The eighth forum of the EU
Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR) opened today in
Sarajevo. The conference is in conjunction with the annual
Council of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative meeting at the level
of foreign ministers.
The panel organizers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Directorate for European
Integration of the Balkan country. And it closes the Bosnian
chairmanship of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, which from June
1, will pass to Croatia.
The Adriatic-Ionian Initiative was launched in 2000 to foster
development, strengthen security, intensify cooperation among
the region's countries, and accelerate European integration
processes.
Along with Bosnia, Herzegovina, and Italy, it includes
Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, San Marino, northern
Macedonia, Slovenia, and Albania. Italy's ambassador to Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Di Ruzza, will speak tomorrow at the forum,
along with other guests from Italy. The conference will close on
