(ANSA) - BOLZANO, 29 GEN - In the Lower Austrian state
elections, Chancellor Karl Nehammer's Oevp plummeted from 49
percent in 2018 to 39 percent. The People's Party has not yet
recovered from the scandal that led to Sebastian Kurz's
resignation just over a year ago. The ultra-right Fpoe, on the
other hand, flies to 24%, gaining 10 points, overtaking the
Social Democrats Spoe, which fell short of expectations,
stopping at 21%. The Greens are at 7.3 percent, while the
liberals Neos 6.4 percent. For Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner it
is a "painful day for the Oevp." (ANSA).
