(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 22 GEN - Lithuanian President Gitanas
Nausėda said he is "confident" that Germany will give the green
light to send the Leopard tanks Ukraine has been clamoring for.
"We regret that such important decisions cannot be made more
promptly. We should make an excursus to each country to
understand the reasons why individual countries have different
opinions, the reasons why you do not want to provoke a country
that is trampling the territory of Ukraine under its shoes," the
Lithuanian president noted, speaking to reporters. Nausėda added
that the goal of each military aid is "to shorten the duration
of the conflict." "We can only appeal to those things whose echo
is heard in the heart of every man, political or not: let us
stop and end this catastrophe as soon as possible," he
concluded. Yesterday, the foreign ministers of the Baltic
countries had again unitedly urged Germany not to prevent the
sending of Leopard tanks to Ukraine. (ANSA).
