(ANSA) - ROME, 21 GEN - In a tweet, Latvian Foreign Minister
Edgars Rinkēvičs called on Berlin to immediately supply Ukraine
with Leopard tanks. "We, the Foreign Ministers of Latvia,
Estonia, and Lithuania, ask Germany to give Leopard tanks to
Ukraine now.
This step is necessary to stop Russian aggression, help
Ukraine and quickly restore European peace. As the leading
European country, Germany bears a special responsibility in this
regard."
Rinkēvičs' appeal comes a day after a military summit at
Ramstein Air Base in Germany failed to secure a commitment from
the German government to send tanks. (ANSA).
