(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 13 - A joint transnational anti-pollution drill between Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia will be held on November 20 in the Gulf of Trieste as part of the NAMIRS Project, co-funded by the EU.
The exercise was announced by the Central European Initiative (CEI), coordinator of the NAMIRS project. The project, CEI underlined, involves Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia in developing joint operational procedures to respond to possible sea-related accidents involving oil spills. National authorities, representatives of the EU, and other regional organizations will attend the event in Trieste.
NAMIRS, an official document state, aims to develop an integrated approach to managing marine pollution incidents, contributing to strengthening the protection of the North Adriatic Sea and preventing environmental disasters, all with a view to transnational response and coordination of operators.
