(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 13 MAR - Croatian poetry and poets of the
20th century. This is the theme of a four-meeting cycle, "Modern
and Contemporary Croatian Poets - Readings and Reflections," to
be held in Trieste from March 21 to April 29, organized by the
Croatian Community of Trieste - Hrvatska Zajednica u Trstu - in
cooperation with the Municipality of Trieste, Libreria Lovat,
Caffè San Marco.
The cycle will be opened by a lecture on March 21 with Prof.
Mladen Machiedo giving a talk entitled "From Montale to
Pasolini, Zagreb reminiscences." Machiedo himself, an academic
and Italianist, will guide people throughout the review into the
world of Croatian poetry from the early 1900s to the present
day. Also speaking at the review will be poet and essayist Carlo
Selan; Valter Milovan, professor of Italianistics at the
University of Pula and translator; and Vanessa Begić, journalist
