(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 09 GEN - LTG Cargo, a company owned by
Lithuanian Railways (Lietuvos geležinkeliai), has begun
transporting coal to Poland under an agreement with authorities
in Warsaw, Lithuanian Railways announced in a press release
issued today.
The coal cargoes will be transported in special containers from
the port of Klaipėda to the Lithuanian-Polish border. Then, they
will continue their journey to Białystok through LTG Cargo
Polska's service.
For the time being, about 5 thousand tons of coal per month
will be transported through Lithuanian territory. LGT Cargo is
considering using the intermodal terminal in Kaunas to increase
the quantities of coal export. (ANSA).
