(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 23 - The German Federal Statistical
Office (Destatis) reported today that Germany's GDP fell by 0.3%
in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the third quarter.
"The German economy ended 2023 in negative territory. In the
final quarter, declining investment had a dampening effect on
economic activity, while consumption increased slightly," says
Ruth Brand, President of the Federal Statistical Office (ANSA).
