(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAR 22 - The 'Trieste Memorandum for Sustainability, Energy and the Environment,' presented today in Trieste, has, among its goals, to open a path for permanent cross-border comparison on sustainable development, environmental defense, and energy, provide for an annual meeting between the parties, promote a collaborative network to exchange databases and best practices, verify the effectiveness of measures taken in the implementation of directives and commitments made in the framework of the EU, and formalize proposals to establish a common environmental platform between neighboring states and regions. The memorandum was presented at the "General States of Sustainability of the Upper Adriatic and Central Europe." It will be signed in the coming days by, among others, the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, and Emilia-Romagna Regions, along with the counties of Croatia, Austria, and Slovenia.

"The effectiveness of public action cannot disregard cross-border collaboration." Today, "collaboration between neighboring regions and countries is proving essential to the success of any action. The sharing of objectives and results becomes the glue for sustainable and common growth," said Italian Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in a video sent to the presentation conference of the 'Memorandum.'
