(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 17 - The Serbian population of
northern Kosovo began signing a petition today calling for the
dismissal of the new ethnic Albanian mayors elected in the four
largest municipalities with a Serbian majority in the local vote
last April. Serbs boycotted elections in large numbers in
protest of Pristina's policies, which were perceived to be
hostile to the Serbian population. (ANSA).
