(ANSA) - PRISTINA, 13 APR - Spain and Romania are not
changing their stance against recognizing Kosovo's independence.
Pristina TV station Rtk reported, giving an account of the
response of the two countries foreign ministries when asked
about their respective positions regarding the Kosovo dossier
after the understanding reached in Ohrid on March 18.
Madrid and Bucharest support the dialogue between Belgrade and
Pristina and the European proposal for an agreement but show no
signs of changing their position on the 'no' to Kosovo
independence, Rtk reported. Greece is also in the same stance as
Spain and Romania, and President Katerina Sakellaropoulou
confirmed this during a recent visit to Belgrade.
Even Cyprus and Slovakia do not recognize Pristina's
independence. Rtk underlined that there had been no new
recognition of Kosovo for over two years. On the number of
countries that have recognized Kosovo, there is a disagreement
between Belgrade and Pristina, with the Serbian side talking
about less than ninety recognitions, whereas, according to the
Kosovo leadership, it would be more than a hundred out of the
total of 193 countries represented at the UN. (ANSA).
