(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 17 - "We promised to uphold the rule of law in the Union while remaining fair to all member states.
Last May, Hungary approved a new law on justice reform. "This is what we asked for, and Hungary delivered," EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told the European Chamber. "At the same time, approximately 20 billion euros are frozen. They were suspended over concerns about LGBTQ rights, academic freedom, and the right to asylum. And they will remain frozen until the demands are met," von der Leyen said. (ANSA).
