(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 14 - According to a statement from the
Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which Hurriyet
reported, Ankara's authorities saved about 24 thousand migrants
at sea last year, the majority of whom the Greek Coast Guard had
rejected while attempting to reach the Greek islands illegally
from the nearby Turkish coast. The same source stated that 20
migrants were discovered dead at sea and 11 were declared
